Why We Built Labbitlab
Our team has spent years working in wet labs. At the beginning of our research journeys, we racked pipette tips into boxes one by one, helped mentors place tubes into water baths, prepared benches, cleaned equipment, and gradually learned every small step that goes into laboratory research.
Over time, we moved on to in vivo and in vitro studies, Western blotting, ICC, confocal imaging, LC-MS, and many other experimental techniques. But as our research became more advanced, one thing never changed: every small step in the lab matters.
Organizing pipette tips may take only a few minutes. Searching for the right tube in an ice bucket may take only a few seconds. Rearranging a rack, repositioning supplies, or working around a tool that was never quite designed for the way we actually work may seem like a minor inconvenience.
But when these small actions are repeated dozens or even hundreds of times a day—and when an experiment lasts for hours, days, or even longer—they add up. They cost more than time. They consume attention, energy, and the focus that researchers need for what matters most.
After years at the bench, we came to realize something simple: good science requires not only good questions, but also good tools.
That led us to ask: why can't the small tools we use every day in the lab be better? Why can't they be more compact, cleaner, more precise, and easier to use? Why can't they be designed around researchers' actual workflows? And why can't the small tasks we repeat every day become simpler, more accurate, and more efficient?
That question became the beginning of Labbitlab.
We want to look closely at the small problems in laboratory work that are often overlooked, and create thoughtful, practical, and precise solutions for them. Our goal is not to make research more complicated—quite the opposite. We want better-designed tools to remove unnecessary steps, simplify everyday workflows, and give researchers more time and attention for what truly matters: the science itself.
